I was on date with Buddy Lampkin, He went to pitch at the pits in Bardstown and I went with him to watch, this when they had sand pits! What do you enjoy most about the sport of horseshoes? The fellowship of the all of the pitchers, especially the older pitchers, they know all of the history. What is your biggest pet peeve while pitching? Cell Phones going off while your pitching! What are your goals to achieve in horseshoe pitching? To win 1st Place in Class ¡§A¡¨ State Singles. What is your biggest accomplishment? Being able to bring up my average, to get and keep my shoe under control, and raise the shoe up! What is your biggest disappointment? Not being able to be consistent enough. What pitcher has most influenced your game and how? All of the crew from Bardstown, Especially Buddy Lampkin, Ted Sauer, Cecil Cook, They will watch me pitch and remind to get that shoe up! What a great support system!!!!!!!!!! Who is your toughest pitching opponent? Myself, pitching against the previous weeks avg. and %¡¦s in order to raise them.

How often do you practice? ? I pitch every day. I try to get at least 150 pitches in. Most often I get in 300.What year did you join the KHPA? 2009.How did you get started in horseshoes? Probably like most, I've played most all of my life here and there. I put a pit in my back yard 3 years ago and it's taken me this long to find the KHPA. (thanks again Robert Taylor). What do you enjoy most about the sport of horseshoes? The fresh air, The competition, and the friends I'm making.What is your biggest pet peeve while pitching? Loud sudden noises. What are your goals to achieve in horseshoe pitching? End of season goal is to be pitching 30 - 35% or higher.What is your biggest accomplishment? Still pretty new so accomplishments are happening for me each tournament. But I'd have to say pitching 2 38% and 1 40% game during the Campbellsville tournament would have to be my biggest. What is your biggest disappointment? Still pretty new so disappointments are happening for me each tournament. But I'd have to say pitching 2 38% and 1 40% game and than also pitching a 16%, 20%, and 18% during the same tournament would be a disappointment. What pitcher has most influenced your game and how?I practice a lot with Ricky Bell, he has given me a lot of advice that has really made sense and worked for me. I've enjoyed every game that he and I have played together even without winning any of them. He has a great attitude towards Horseshoes and It has helped me to stay focused. Who is your toughest pitching opponent?Myself.

The fun of pitching, meeting new people and making new friends. What is your biggest pet peeve while pitching? (Kathy says its a closely guarded secret!) What are your goals to achieve in horseshoe pitching? To pitch a 50% game or better. What is your biggest accomplishment? Winning 3rd place, Class D, in my first State Tournament. What is your biggest disappointment? Not being consistant. What pitcher has most influenced your game and how? My husband. He keeps me going and keeps my confidence up.
